Help has arrived!

A team of 5 Go Now Missions people are here now! They will be working with me and I’m so excited to have them here with me! There are two boys – Saidel and Richie, and three girls – Bianca, Jen and Taylor. They are great and we all are very encouraging to one another. I bet we will become very good friends soon!

Auntie Jen and Auntie Bianca helping the kids
bake a cake! (Its Emma's Birthday!)

The team picked up the kids from school! They were so excited to see so many Mzungus in one place!

The rest of the day was just so FUN! We played in the front driveway until dinner.

Annet and Brenda

Little Emma making a silly face!
Richie Playing with Jerom and Joshua! Its such
a blessing to have boy volunteers because the
little boys really get to look up to them and have
guy time with them you know?! Its great!

Me and Cocus
Momma Lois and Abby

Jerom just loves this tire!

Emma and his Birthday cake! We think he turned 3!
He is very small for his age and we don't have all
of the kid's birth certificates so a lot of the kids
just had b-days assigned to them. And we are
not really positive on their ages they only
estimated based on their teeth.

The boys washing out the trash bins! Joshua insisted i take a "snap" of them doing this! haha

This is Me and Bianca with piles of children on top of us! My favorite thing is that we can never sit down without someone climbing in our laps! Its just perfect!

< I thought this was interesting. Momma Monica on her day off she sits outside and calls the kids over one by one and grooms them. Trims their hair, cuts their nails and she does it all with a razor blade! its different!

Annet is just laying in my lap after playing hard! Like i said...if there's an empty lap someone will fill it very soon! Such beautiful moments like this happen every single day. I love it! Some one will just climb up and talk to you right when you need it most or say something so sweet that joy wells up inside and you get a lump in your throat :)

Sweet Jerom has the best laugh ever!

While the kids showered and ate dinner we went with Moses and Joseph to the place of the Martyrs. There were 12 missionaries that came from other parts of Africa in the 1900s to share Christ with the people of Uganda. But the king at that time was totally against religion. He killed the 12 missionaries but then the King ended up committing suicide. The Place of the Martyrs is where they were burned at the steak, beheaded or drowned. Every year June 3rd is Martyrs Day and people have been making the trek to the place for weeks now. People walk from Rwanda, Kenya, and all around Africa to come and worship here. There are even a lot of catholic priests that come from around the world to visit. Moses said it is like a catholic Mecca. We have seen lots of people in big groups walking with suitcases and bags of food to it. It’s only a few miles outside of where the orphanage is. So we all got to visit it.

These are statues of the Martyrs who were burned. And in the back behind that blueish gate is a statue of Mary. They were placing hands on these statues and asking for blessings and praying to them. Its sad because they are so passionate about it but they are just deceived on who has the true power to give blessings or heal. Pray for them to be shown the truth that Jesus is the only one who is worthy of worship, not mere men.

Some of the Martyrs were beheaded and the story says that their heads fell into this lake. I think some were drowned in this lake as well. People come year round to draw water from here to use in cooking, bathing, or drinking because they believe it has healing power and using it will bless them. Here people are putting their feet in and praying.

I don't think you could tell from the other pictures just how many people are here! There were hundreds and hundreds who camp out here for weeks and stay until June 4th (the day after Martyrs day). Please pray that the truth about Jesus will reach these people and that they will read and understand the Bible.
