Today we took the kids swimming! I think I forgot to tell everyone that the kids are on holiday for a few more weeks so that is why they are getting so much free time and fun activities before they go back to school! The place is huge and really nice! It has pools and playgrounds and even a mini train you can ride around. We had a picnic and played on the playground after swimming and also saw a turtle! We went to the fish pond that we looked in last year and I remember it because the water was just as dark green as last time and again there seemed to be no fish in it. When one of the workers saw all the kids looking in the pond he brought over the food and dumped a huge amount on top of the water. All of a sudden we saw huge catfish and some other type of smaller fish eating from the surface! It was so cool!
The kids were more than WORN OUT by the time we were on our way home. We got back at about 2:30 and they went to take a nap. nap time usually ens at 4 so we woke them up at that time and it was pretty hilarious. They were all just sitting outside in the shade with half open eyes telling Auntie Sara (one of the Ugandan staff) that they wanted to go back to bed! Mom suggested we go swimming every day! haha that way they will be this good all the time!
Tomorrow will be another full day actually! we go to Garden City playground with the kiddos!
Oh, ladies, I love these posts and photos! "Joy" became my word from Ethiopia last year - "Desta" in Amharic. I totally understand how it can become a life word when you see the deep, pure joy in these people and when you feel it you never want it to end!
ReplyDeletePraying for you and loving you from here!
